Yes, you can borrow money from another player at the table, however; as soon as you receive your next disposable income amounts you must pay your neighbor back in full first before you buy any investments or pay off the balance of your credit card.

Why are the disposable income amounts so low? I have so much debt on my credit card there is no way I will be able to pay it off with the little money I have coming in. The disposable income amounts are low because that is usually the same amount of money that many families have left from their paycheck after they pay all of their bills each month. If everyone had thousands of dollars after all their bills were paid we wouldn’t have such a high usage of credit card debt in an effort to supplement our lifestyles. Yes, the goal of winning at zero credit card debt balance and a $5,000 investment balance can be change due to time limitations. Play to a zero credit card debt balance and an investment balance of $1,000 instead. This will give all players a chance to go around the board at least twice to get an idea of what the spaces look like and to quickly implement some of their strategies to win. If they do not implement the correct strategies in the beginning, they will find themselves with a very large credit card debt balance and will find it very difficult to win the game.

As players identify more areas where they can downsize their lifestyle or increase their salary and everyone agrees with their suggestions which must be different from the other players, it is okay to add to your disposable income amount in increments of $100 each time a player makes a full rotation around the board. This can only happen after all players have gone around the board 4 full rotations.
